We are thrilled to introduce Crqlar Version 3.7.4! This release brings major improvements to how you manage transactional emails, upgrades our MEWS connector to support specialized international characters perfectly, and refines the booking engine interface for both hotel staff and global guests.

📧 Major Transactional Email Overhaul & UI Improvements

Communication with your guests should be seamless and intentional. In this version, we have completely reimagined our transactional email workflows to give your team absolute control over when and how emails are dispatched.

Intelligent "Send on Click" Logic

To prevent accidental or redundant communications, we have introduced a clearer manual trigger system for staff-created or staff-modified reservations:

  • Create & Save Flexibility: In the reservation dialog, the "Create Reservation" and "Save" buttons now feature an optional dropdown arrow allowing you to select "Create reservation & send e-mail" or "Save & send e-mail".
  • Intentional Dispatches: Transactional emails are now strictly sent only when your team explicitly selects the "send e-mail" option.
  • Serial Reservations Protection: Serial/recurring reservations will no longer trigger automatic transactional emails, keeping your guest inboxes clean.

Streamlined Statuses & Naming

We have aligned our email template categories to match your standard reservation status dropdown perfectly, complete with intuitive visual color dots:

  • Reservation Pending: Unified template for all pending requests (including widget bookings).
  • Reservation Confirmed: Sent instantly upon confirmation.
  • Reservation Updated: Dispatched on manual modifications when explicitly requested.
  • Reservation Completed / No-Show / Cancelled: Clean, tailored logic for every stage of the guest journey.

Design & Settings UI Refinements

Managing your templates is now faster and more space-efficient:

  • Space-Saving Popups: We moved placeholders and the Unlayer email editor into a single, scrollable layout. Fields like "Reply-To Email Address" and "BCC: Internal Mailing" are now aligned on a single line to maximize screen real estate.
  • Icon-Based Management: Replaced text-based "Clone" and "Delete" buttons with clean, modern icons.
  • Sector Filtering: In the Domain tab, the system now exclusively displays sectors active for your specific hotel/organization, removing unnecessary clutter like accommodation or room reservation sectors where they don't apply.

💨 Enhanced Message Settings

Finding past communications is now faster and more intuitive. We have heavily optimized the messages database index, significantly increasing loading times for sent mail tables in production.

  • Faster Querying: Locate user emails instantly with a high-performance search bar now supporting First Name, Last Name, and Full Name searches.
  • Better SendGrid Integration: The message table now securely pulls the exact subject line, delivery status, and localized send time directly from SendGrid responses.
  • Cleaner Channels: "App_Chat" labels have been simplified to "App" for clarity, SMS messages are filtered out contextually, and a smart execution layer ensures push notifications are only triggered if the guest is actively present on the guest app.

🌍 MEWS Connector: Full Global Character Support

For our partners utilizing the MEWS property management system, we have updated our connector to enforce strict UTF-8 compliance across all data transfers.

When booking a service directly to a room folio, the system now effortlessly processes localized Western European special characters—such as German umlauts (ä, ö, ü, ß). Data is safely wrapped in structural localized text objects, ensuring names and service details display flawlessly from your API straight to the guest's bill.

🚀 Booking Engine & Service Mapping Upgrades

Direct Service-to-Engine Mapping

Managing where your hotel services are sold just got much easier. We have added a dedicated "Booking Engine" tab right inside the Services menu (similar to the resource management tabs). From here, hotel managers can instantly view which engines a service is attached to and use a fast search bar to add or remove services from specific booking paths on the fly.

Global Localization Fields

To provide a friction-free checkout experience for international travelers, we have corrected and fully translated essential address fields within the booking engine. Guests will now see properly localized terms across multiple languages, including:

  • Zip Code ➡️ PLZ
  • City ➡️ Stadt
  • Street Name ➡️ Straße
  • Country ➡️ Land
